History and culture of
The Bernard Michaud Company
History...
In the verdant foothills of the Pyrenees, there is a family business that has been handed down through three generations. Over the last hundred years, they have acquired enormous experience in collecting and selecting honey, controlling quality , and marketing their products.

Yves MICHAUD
, Yves
Michaud, the founder of the firm, was enthusiastic and inventive, devoting himself
entirely to beekeeping and the production of honey. By moving his hives, following the
seasons and the different flowers as they came into bloom, he obtained several crops a
year and succeeded in isolating
monofloral honeys.
. He thus became the
pioneer of what is known technically as
apiarian transhumance
. Always
seeking optimum quality, he was also the first to introduce into France methods for
extracting honey rather than pressing it: the Honey Loosening machine, the rotary filter and the
first nylon meshes for filtering. By constantly improving beekeeping techniques,
he contributed to making France the pioneer of honey production in Europe.
Ever stricter criteria for selection
led to the creation of the
Lune de Miel
(honeymoon) trade mark in 1959.
Our research into honey regularly increases our knowledge about the product and our
product presentation and marketing methods are constantly being enhanced.

To provide consumers with the ultimate choice of flavours, Bernard Michaud selects his honeys from all the apiaries in France, and seeks out the very best of each floral designation from all over the world . |
From France or other countries, the honeys are all made from the latest crop and everything is done to retain their original flavours : the quality of the Lune de Miel brand has been rewarded by ISO 9002 certification.
An age-old product, the fruit of
painstaking work and research, the source of a thousand flavours and essential to
well-being and good health,
honey is one of the few 100% natural foods that
retains all of its original goodness.
.
We hope that these pages have brought you to realize the prime importance of honey , and will encourage you to make all the subtleties and sweetness of honey a part of your daily life. |
